Short Track Super Series & All-Tech Raceway Announce Partnership for February 2020 ‘Sunshine Swing’

LAKE CITY, FL – Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track
Super Series (STSS) Fueled By Sunoco, welcome to Florida.

For
the first time ever, the Short Track Super Series will venture to the Sunshine
State in 2020. Series director Brett Deyo of BD Motorsports Media LLC and
Wendell Durrance, promoter of All-Tech Raceway in Lake City, Fla., have reached
an agreement for both the STSS big-block/small-block Modifieds and STSS Crate
602 Sportsman to compete at the half-mile oval next February.

One
night of open practice will be followed by three consecutive nights of racing
February 5-8, 2020 at All-Tech, comprising the inaugural ‘Sunshine Swing’ for
the Short Track Super Series. American Racer Tires and Sunoco Race Fuels have
both signed on to support the Florida events.

“This
is a huge step forward for the Short Track Super Series brand, Deyo said. “All
eyes are on Florida in February. We’re looking forward to showcasing the Short
Track Super Series exciting style of racing, its competitors and marketing
partners next February.

The
STSS Modifieds will race for unprecedented payout structures for the state of
Florida.

Following
Wednesday night’s (Feb. 5) Open Practice, a 30-lap main event will be on the
docket for Thursday paying $5,000 to win. On Friday, 40 laps will be run with
the victor’s share boosted to $7,500. On Saturday, a 50-lap finale offers
$10,000 to the winner.

“The
Modifieds will now have the opportunity to compete for purses comparable to the
national Super Late Model and 410 Sprint Car Series, Deyo added.

Crate
602 Sportsman have not been forgotten. Thursday and Friday nights will include
25-lap features for $1,250 to win. A 30-lap finale pays $1,500 to win on
Saturday. Additional marketing partners are in the works to increase the Crate
602 payout.

“The
Crate division showed there was an interest in Florida racing, Deyo said. “We
are going to build on the tradition of Crate 602 Sportsman racing in February
and provide three days of racing with balanced payouts through the field.

Two
local divisions – tentatively the C Class Late Models and Thunder Stocks – will
complete the shows.

All
three nights of action will be broadcast live via DirtTrackDigest.tv. A
weeklong package will be available to viewers.

Located
approximately 70 miles west of Jacksonville, All-Tech Raceway is a half-mile,
progressively banked clay oval. Promoter Wendell Durrance took control of the
facility in 2015 and has taken what was a rundown paved track and developed it
into a state-of-the-art dirt facility.

Improvements
in recent seasons have included the continually replenished clay surface, new
aluminum bleachers to augment the hillside concrete stands, additional
lighting, expanded pit area and camper parking areas, all-new pit and
grandstand sound systems, renovated concession stand and VIP tower, fresh
corner fencing, access roads around the facility and much more.

Durrance,
a former racer for more than two decades and local machine shop owner, said now
is the time to take on an event of this magnitude.

“We’re
ready to do something like this now, Durrance said. “We’re here seven days a
week working on this place. We’ll keep improving right through next February.
This will bring attention to our track; it’s going to be very good for us.

The
speedway has gained notoriety recently through test sessions with nationally
known drivers including Donny Schatz, Chris Madden, Brett Hearn and more.
Teo-Pro Modified teams took part in a track rental this past February and gave
the facility rave reviews.

Further
‘Sunshine Swing’ information and news will be released throughout the spring
and summer months. Keep posted to both STSS and All-Tech Raceway websites and
social media channels for more.
