Short Track Super Series to “Hustle the High Banks of Woodhull Raceway Tuesday, August 13
WOODHULL,
NY – The Bob Hilbert
Sportswear Short Track Super Series (STSS) Fueled By Sunoco is set to “hustle
the High Banks.
Woodhull
Raceway, Ted and Brandi White’s unique, one-third-mile paperclip will host the
STSS on Tuesday, August 13 when NAPA Auto Parts of Addison and Corning, Two
Rivers Timber and Maple City Dodge present the ‘Hustlin’ the High Banks 55’
featuring a doubleheader of STSS Modifieds and STSS Crate 602 Sportsman.
Annually, the
Woodhull stop is one of the most exciting for fans of the series, with
wheel-to-wheel action common on the track’s banking.
STSS
Modifieds take part in Race No. 7 of the Halmar International North Region
chase for a $12,500 championship. Crate 602 Sportsman take part in their fifth
of six North Region point events.
$5,500 awaits
the winner of the 55-lap Modified battle, with $1,000 reserved for 10th-place
and $400 just to take the green flag from a total pay structure of more than
$25,000.
Every year, the
Short Track Super Series makes memories at Woodhull.
In the series
debut in 2015, Stewart Friesen battled side-by-side with local Dylan Dewert
before prevailing for the victory in his debut at the track. Friesen won over
Dewert, Danny Johnson, Tyler Siri and Josh Nobriga.
The 2016
event saw New Jersey’s Ryan Godown prevail over Grant Hilfiger, Donnie
Lawson, Brian Malcolm and Tommy Meier.
Andy
Bachetti, who always
anticipates his annual visits to Woodhull, bested Anthony Perrego, Matt
Sheppard, Danny Creeden and Dillon Groover to earn the 2017 triumph.
Bachetti is
the most recent winner with the series, having emerged victorious from Accord
(N.Y.) Speedway on July 9.
Hometown hero
Billy Van Pelt thrilled the Woodhull faithful a year ago, besting Matt
Sheppard, Bachetti, Billy Decker and Groover.
55 laps on
the High Banks await STSS Modified competitors on the 13th.
The STSS
Crate 602 Sportsman will battle for a $1,500 top prize in a 25-lap main event,
while Street Stocks complete the tripleheader in a 25-lap feature.
Gates open at
4 p.m. Hot laps are planned for 6 p.m. Racing gets underway at 7 p.m.

grandstand admission is $20. Seniors (ages 62 and up) and Kids (ages 8-12) pay
