Five Point Titles to Be Decided at Georgetown Speedway Mid-Atlantic Championship Weekend

GEORGETOWN,
DE The Mid-Atlantic
Championship weekend is living up to its name in 2020.

Next weekend
Friday, Oct. 30 and Sat., Oct. 31 five championships will be decided on the
progressively banked Georgetown Speedway oval representing both the Bob Hilbert
Sportswear Short Track Super Series (STSS) Fueled By Sunoco and Georgetown™s
own home-track Sunoco Championship Series.

The race for
the 2020 STSS Velocita-USA South Region presented by Design for Vision and Sunglass
Central Modified title worth $10,000 is mathematically down to three drivers.  Stewart Friesen of Sprakers, N.Y., leads Billy
Pauch Jr. by 20 points entering the Mid-Atlantic Championship. Defending STSS Grand
Champion™ Matt Sheppard sits third, just 65 points back.

Ninety points
can be gained or lost this weekend with the 150-point structure in place.

Adding to the
intrigue: Friesen will have to qualify through a consolation or take a
provisional on Saturday due to a NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series commitment
on Friday at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway when Modified heat races are run at
Georgetown.

Saturday™s (Oct.
31) 44-lap (in memory of Tom Perrego) STSS Modified main event will decide
whose name goes on the ™20 STSS Modified South Region championship check.

The STSS
Crate 602 Sportsman South Region $1,500 championship will also come down to the
wire in the Mid-Atlantic Championship 25-lap main.

Four drivers
remain in the mix for the crown. Delaware resident Scott Hitchens leads New
York rival Tim Hartman Jr. by just 16 points. Joe Toth sits third, 52 points back
and Michael White is just 60 markers back in fourth.

Like their
Modified counterparts, 90 points can be gained or lost at the 25-lap finale run
on Saturday (Oct. 31).

For the first time, Georgetown Speedway is crowning its own Sunoco-sponsored track champions in 2020.

The L&J
Sheet Metal Modified division sees Billy Pauch Jr.  leading by 28 points over Ryan Watt in the
battle for the $2,500 title. Pauch Jr. and Watt are the only two drivers
mathematically in contention for the championship.

In the
Chesapeake Paving/J.W. Brown Trucking Crate 602 Sportsman division, Joe Toth
leads the father-son duo of Michael and Adam White by 43 and 45 points,
respectively. Scott Hitchens is fourth, 55 points behind. Georgetown Speedway™s
™20 Crate 602 Sportsman champion receives $750.

The tightest
battle for a title belongs to the RUSH Late Model division. Three drivers are
separated by just four points. Trevor Collins holds a one-point lead over Matt
Hill and four-point edge over Amanda Whaley-Robinson. Dana Walker, 43 points
out in fourth and Billy Thompson, 74 points behind, remain within striking
distance.

A 20-lap
Friday night (Oct. 30) feature will determine the $750 RUSH Late Model track champion.
