Diamond State Duel: Short Track Super Series Visits Delaware International Tuesday, April 26

The Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series (STSS) Fueled By Sunoco brings the Diamond State 50™ back to Delaware International Speedway on Tuesday, April 26.

The 50-lap affair at the Cathell family™s half-mile oval on the First State side of the Delaware-Maryland line plays host to Round No. 2 of the Hurlock Auto & Speed Supply South Region for the STSS big-block/small-block Modifieds.

Ringoes, N.J.™s Ryan Godown enters the night of racing as the South Region point leader after his triumph at Pa.™s Port Royal Speedway in March.

The 2022 edition of the Diamond State 50™ will be the eighth appearance in as many years by the STSS to Delaware International Speedway. The STSS has visited Delaware International every year since 2015.

The stars of the STSS will be chasing a $5,000-plus top prize and attempting to inch themselves closer to the $15,000 South Region championship, as part of the boosted regional points purse at season™s end.

A total purse of over $25,000 is up for grabs with $1,000 reserved for the 10th-place finisher and $500 to take the green. Cash bonuses, certificates and awards will be handed out to competitors as well.

Sprakers, N.Y.™s Stewart Friesen leads all STSS competition at Delaware International, having won three of the seven races at the Sussex County oval, including the 2021 Diamond State 50.™

The Crate 602 Sportsman of the Belmont™s Garage South Region join the STSS Modifieds for their third attempt to get the South Region underway.

After cancellations at both Georgetown (Del.) Speedway and Selinsgrove (Pa.) Speedway, the STSS Crate 602 Sportsman head to Delaware International Speedway for Round No. 1 of the South Region.

The 25-lap affair will pay $1,500 to the winner and $100 to take the green in the main event.

Wednesday, April 27 is reserved as a rain date.

For the April 26 event, pit gates open at 3 p.m. with grandstand gates to follow at 5 p.m. Hot laps are scheduled for a 6:30 p.m. start with racing set to take place at 7:15 p.m.

Grandstand admission is $25 for Adults. $20 for Seniors (ages 65 & up) and Students (ages 13-17). Kids (ages 9-12) get in for $10 and Children ages 5 & under get in FREE.

Pit admission is $40 (ages 13 & up). Kids (ages 6-12) get in for $10 and $2 for Children (ages 5 & under).

The entire night of racing, along with every STSS race in 2022, will be broadcast LIVE on FloRacing (www.floracing.tv).
