STSS Modified, Crate 602 Sportsman Title Fights Set for Georgetown This Weekend
GEORGETOWN, DE – It all comes down to this.
The 2024 Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series (STSS) Fueled By Sunoco STSS Modified NJ Quality Drywall South Region and STSS Crate 602 Sportsman Belmont’s Garage South Region championship battles conclude this weekend – Friday-Saturday Nov. 1-2 – at Delaware’s Georgetown Speedway.
Alex Yankowski of Covington Township, Pa., holds a slim 30-point edge on Walden, N.Y.’s Anthony Perrego in STSS Modified competition entering the Mid-Atlantic Championship.
Recently crowned River Valley Builders North Region champion Matt Sheppard of Savannah, N.Y., sits third, 38 points back. Mat Williamson of Saint Catherines, Ont., is fourth, 41 points behind. Danny Bouc of Pipersville, Pa., is fifth, trailing the lead by just 48 points.
Championship points – utilizing the 150-point structure – will be awarded this weekend, translating into a 90-point swing from first to last.
The point breakdown is as follows: 1 – 150; 2 – 145; 3 – 140; 4 – 135; 5 – 130; 6 – 125; 7 – 120; 8 – 116; 9 – 112; 10 – 108; 11 – 104; 12 – 100; 13 – 96; 14 – 92; 15 – 88; 16 – 84; 17 – 80; 18 – 77; 19 – 74; 20 – 71; 21 – 68; 22 – 65; 23 – 62; 24 to last – 60. Did Not Qualify/Start – 35
A 40-lap, $7,000-to-win STSS Modified feature event will serve as the finale for the South Region, which kicked off at Georgetown in March.

Like their Modified counterparts, the STSS Crate 602 Sportsman Belmont’s Garage South Region have an intense title fight.
Logan Watt of Boyertown, Pa., leads Ethan Bill of Upper Pilesgrove Township, N.J., by four points. Joe Toth of Upper Makefield, Pa., is third, only 34 points from the lead.

Georgetown Speedway, originally constructed by Melvin L. Joseph in 1949, is located at the intersection of Route 113 and Speedway Road in Georgetown, Del., just miles from the Delaware beaches and less than a 40-minute drive from Ocean City, Md.
