Independence at Fonda: STSS Invades Track of Champions Sunday, July 3 for Firecracker™

FONDA, NY Independence Day weekend, Fonda style.

On Sunday, July 3, the Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series (STSS) Fueled By Sunoco visits Fonda Speedway for the first of two appearances at the Track of Champions during the 2022 season.

The fourth annual Firecracker 50™ will pay the STSS big-block/small-block Modified winner $10,000-plus for the holiday weekend victory.

The annual Fourth of July celebratory affair serves as Round No. 6 of the 10-race River Valley Builders North Region $15,000 championship chase.

Fonda Speedway hosts its fifth STSS Modified event, with the 2021 Fonda 200™ joining the three previous editions of the Firecracker 50™ in STSS history at Fonda.

Sprakers, N.Y.™s Stewart Friesen is undefeated in STSS competition at Fonda Speedway, claiming all three Firecracker 50™ events plus the $53,000-to-win Fonda 200™ last September.

In total, a purse of more than $33,000 is on the line, with bonuses and contingency awards still to be added to the event.

The STSS Crate 602 Sportsman will join the program, racing for a $2,000 top prize and $125 to take the green in the 30-lap feature event.

The Fonda Speedway visit will serve as Round No. 4 of the Precision Hydraulic & Oil Crate 602 Sportsman North Region.

The entire night of racing, along with every STSS race in 2022, will be broadcast LIVE on FloRacing (www.floracing.tv).

Since 1953, the œTrack of Champions? Fonda Speedway has hosted the best in stock car racing. Under the management of BD Motorsports Media LLC, the speedway will operate weekly on Saturday nights from April through August plus several special events.
